The Wisconsin Dermatological Society (WDS) has recognized Wisconsin Sen. DanFeyen (R-Fond du Lac) as the organization’s Legislator of the Year for his leadership on critical health care policy during the 2023-24 legislative session. The award recognizes state lawmakers who champion
the WDS mission to promote and strengthen the practice of Dermatology and the delivery of quality medical care in Wisconsin. Feyen was recently presented the award at the Dermatology & Cosmetic Physicians clinic in West Bend, WI. The clinic is owned by WDS member Burt Steffes, MD.
“The WDS is thrilled to recognize Sen. Feyen with our Legislator of the Year award. Our members understand that policy decisions made at the State Capitol can help promote health, prevent disease, and strengthen patient safety, and we greatly appreciate Sen. Feyen’s work to improve medical care in Wisconsin,” said Alex Means, M.D., President-Elect of the Wisconsin Dermatological Society. “We are extremely grateful for his efforts in the State Capitol to preserve quality care and patient safety and his commitment to a healthier Wisconsin. His leadership on key health care policy issues benefit both patients and providers across the state.”
Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce (WMC), the combined state chamber of commerce and manufacturers’ association, is recognizing the efforts of these lawmakers by presenting them with the coveted
“Working for Wisconsin” award.
“Wisconsin is very fortunate to have a pro-growth legislature with leaders like Senator Feyen who consistently vote to cut taxes, improve our regulatory and legal climate, and invest in our state’s workforce,” said Kurt Bauer, WMC President & CEO. “While our state’s economy has faced many challenges this year, that only reinforces the need for policies that promote job creation, rather than prevent it.”
The Working for Wisconsin award recognizes legislators who supported specific pro-growth policies and earned a high rating on WMC’s biennial legislative scorecard. It is awarded based on individual voting records, regardless of a legislator’s partisan affiliation.
“Yet again this session, Senator Feyen has been a true advocate for county government and we are appreciative of his leadership that impacts not just his district, but all 72 counties,” said WCA
Executive Director Mark D. O’Connell. “The partnership the Association has with Senator Feyen and his staff is greatly valued and his tireless dedication to the taxpayers makes for a better Wisconsin.”
The “WCA Outstanding Legislator Award” is handed out biennially to a select group of legislators who have represented county interests in both the legislature and in their districts.
These legislators have demonstrated leadership for counties on key issues, legislation and the state budget.
